Young people can speak with a professional youth worker about any problem they may be having in their lives. We are here for you.
Daybreak is an educational support programme, which encourages the release of positive development within each of the young people in the project. The projects is targeted at Young people who are early or potential early school leavers and those who are occasional attendees aged 12-15 years.
Donegal Youth information Service provide a free, confidential information service to young people and those who work with them. The centre managed by Donegal Youth Service, operates a one stop shop approach where all the information is available under the one roof.
The Youth Outreach Project, supported by a senior Youth Worker and a Youth Outreach Worker provides a support service to affiliated youth clubs and projects located across the county. Membership continues to be in excess of over 2500 young people aged 5yrs-25yrs in the youth clubs and projects and supported by over 450 adult volunteers.
The LOFT is a Health Advice project for young people aged 12 to 18 years through which they make friends, develop skills and overcome difficulties in their lives. The LOFT provides activities and developmental programmes with particular focus on supporting young people, who are at risk of, or currently experiencing, difficulties in their lives.
BreakOut is youth project focused on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender young people aged between 16 and 23 years. The project operates a weekly drop-in provision in Letterkenny and Buncrana as well as training, information and one to one support.
The Donegal Youth Council is a group of 36 young people aged 12-18 years, who identify issues and promote projects to improve the lives of young people in Donegal. Like the adult County Councillors they are selected from five electoral areas and represent the young people in their schools, education centres and local areas.
The DYS Community Employment Project employs 17 participants and 1 supervisor, which is funded by the Department of Social Protection and provides valuable support to the staff and volunteers around the county enhancing the services that the DYS can supply to young people and the local communities.
The European Voluntary Service (EVS) helps young people travel abroad to participate in volunteering projects. Volunteering projects can involve many different kinds of activities in areas such as youth work, cultural activities, social care or environmental protection. They can last from 2 weeks to 1 year.
Re-Activ8 is a free personal development programme for young people aged 16-25 which aims to build and develop life skills that foster good relations, build confidence and resilience and make them more employable. Young people are supported to discover and achieve their full potential.
The Young Carers project supports young people who take on a caring role and extra responsibilities at home. It offers respite care, peer support and more to young carers across the county.
Youthscape is a cross community and cross border programme for 14-24 year olds which is young person centred. The programme will focus on 3 key areas; Personal Development, Good Relations and Citizenship.
