To celebrate Europe Day 2023 and Ireland’s 50th Anniversary of joining the EU, Donegal County Council in association with Europe Direct Letterkenny will be hosting a EU focused conference on Europe Day 9th May 2023 from 9.15am in the Mount Errigal Hotel, Letterkenny highlighting Ireland’s membership of the European Union over the last 50 years. MC for this event will be Brendan Mooney, EU Programmes Executive from the North West Regional Assembly. Headline speaker for this event is Stephen Kinsella, media commentator, author of Ireland in 2050 and Lecturer in Economics at the University of Limerick. The conference will include a special performance by the New Land Choir. We will have live and prerecorded videos with Chris MacManus MEP and Colm Markey MEP. Our Youth Information Officer Katarzyna Kurzeja will speak about the opportunities in bringing young people together and also the benefits of taking part in European programmes in Europe (Erasmus+, Discover EU and Eurodesk).
