Supporting The Next Generation of Musicians, Artists and Writers
Donegal Youth Service supports young musicians through various initiatives that provide opportunities to support their creativity, skills, and performance. We offer access to music workshops, recording facilities, and mentorship programmes where young artists can develop and grow their talents. We work closely with young people to give them access to live events, gigs, and competitions, where they have the chance to showcase their work and gain performance experience in front of audiences. The service also connects musicians with industry professionals, offering guidance on song writing, production, and career development. By fostering a supportive and creative environment, Donegal Youth Service empowers young people to express themselves and take the next steps in their musical journey.
Friday Night Gigs & Rehearsal Space
We welcome young people to avail of the on-site band room at Donegal Youth Service where they have access to a variety of musical instruments and equipment. There’s also an opportunity to use the E55 recording studio to get introduced to the world of music production and sound engineering.
Party in the Park
Party in the Park is an annual free music and arts festival organised by Donegal Youth Service, bringing young people and the community together for a day of entertainment and creativity. Held in Letterkenny’s Bernard McGlinchey Town Park, the event features live performances from local musicians, dance acts, and DJs, alongside fun activities such as face painting, games, and interactive workshops. It provides a platform for young talent to shine while promoting a positive and inclusive atmosphere. With a vibrant festival vibe, Party in the Park celebrates youth culture, creativity, and community spirit in Donegal.
Art
Donegal Youth Service offers a range of arts programmes that encourage young people to explore their creativity and develop new skills. These programmes include music workshops, visual arts projects, creative writing, drama, and digital media initiatives. They provide opportunities for young people to express themselves through painting, photography, filmmaking, and graphic design. The service also runs events and exhibitions where participants can showcase their work.
