About Donegal Youth Service
Donegal Youth Service is a countywide organisation supporting young people through 30+ affiliated youth clubs and projects. We provide drop-in facilities, programmes, and services that empower and inspire young people, and we have engaged with over 15,000 young people annually, thanks to the dedication of our passionate team (30+ staff members) and 300 incredible volunteers who help make a lasting impact.
The Team
Donegal Youth Service is powered by a multidisciplinary team of professionals from diverse backgrounds, each bringing unique expertise to our work. Together, our team ensures our organisation remains professional, progressive, and committed to delivering high-quality youth services that make a real difference.
The Board
Donegal Youth Service is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors, comprising dedicated volunteers from the youth and community sector, along with experts in law, management, finance, education, social disadvantage, employment, and youth work. We actively encourage youth participation at the Board level, ensuring young voices help shape our direction.
Strategic Plan
The Donegal Youth Service Strategic Plan 2023 – 2025 provides the strategic direction for the organisation and sets out what the organisation does, how we do it and what we aim to achieve over the period. The plan is aligned to relevant local and national youth and youth work policy.

Our unique service allows us to adapt and respond to the local needs of our young people throughout Donegal.
The strength of Donegal Youth Service lies in its network of affiliated, volunteer-led youth clubs. Our primary focus is to support and strengthen these groups by developing effective policies, providing information, and delivering impactful youth work programmes that benefit both young people and the adults who support them.
Our purpose is to ensure high-quality youth work that empowers young people to make informed choices in relationships, school and college education, internet safety, health, and more. Through our innovative programmes and policies, we strive to create opportunities for healthier, brighter futures for our young people.
