The Letterkenny Youth Information Centre have a 2018 goal for you.

They want you to wow the crowds with your public speaking skills this year, and they are launching a new discussion group called ‘YIC Talks’ to help you achieve it.  The group will improve your public speaking skills, you will meet new people, discuss ideas and explore other points of view.

It’s all going to start on Tuesday the 16th of January at 6pm in The Loft, and every Tuesday at 6pm after that.  There’s no pressure to sign up, just get in touch and come along to the first one to see what it’s all about and if it’s for you.

Kasia Kurzeja, Letterkenny Youth Information Officer shared why she feels this group is important: ’’We all know how challenging public speaking is.  All the shaking hands, empty heads, and desire to disappear when giving a presentation in school or any other place – it is a human thing, but with a little bit of practice it’s possible to overcome it. Most of the barriers and fears are in our heads. This is why we wanted to create the YIC Talks group.”

The group will focus on individual needs and abilities, and participants will have wide range of different topics to talk about. It is about more than just speaking – it is all about body language, positioning yourself among others and communicating effectively.
