Volunteering at the Donegal Youth Service

Are you interested in getting involved in Youth Work?  Do you have skills that could help us?  Could you be our next Volunteer? Ever thought about Volunteering across Europe at no cost to you?

Anthony Caldwell DYS Volunteer of The Year 2017

Volunteers play an essential role in the work of the Donegal Youth Service (DYS). All of our affiliated clubs and projects rely on the skills of volunteers in order to deliver a quality service to young people. Our Volunteers are extremely valued, without whom the work of the Donegal Youth Service would not be impossible.

Each volunteer receives induction training outlining the many opportunities available to them at the DYS. These include working as a volunteer at your local Youth Club, working as a Youth Information Provider, Using your creative skills to engage a group of young people or helping to supervise our Youth Drop in facilities as well as many others.

At the DYS volunteers have opportunities to access information and support systems to enhance their volunteering experience. The organisation has policies in place to ensure that volunteers receive training, support and encouragement when they become part of the Donegal Youth Service. This mandatory training includes an introduction to basic Youth Work principles and Child Protection training. There are also many other training opportunities that volunteers can apply for as they become available.
