Donegal Youth Service is delighted to announce that many of their affiliated clubs throughout the County have engaged with the National Quality Standards Framework for Volunteer Led Youth Groups. This is the first time these Quality standards have been implemented within Youth Clubs in Co. Donegal.

This initiative is being carried out by Donegal Youth Service on behalf of the Donegal Education and Training Board (VEC) and is part of a national framework under the Department of Children and Youth Affairs. The main purpose is to install principles to assist our local Youth Clubs in ensuring quality youth work for the young people of Donegal.

This is a fantastic initiative to support our local Donegal Volunteer-Led Youth groups, to provide quality and support for young people in safe and supportive environments. We are delighted that these Youth Clubs are getting the recognition they deserve for the outstanding work they do.

A refreshing number of local youth clubs have now engaged and are extremely excited to undertake the work of quality within their clubs. Some of these Youth Clubs include Club Oige Chriost Ri, Fanad YC, Lifford YC, The Forge, Castlefinn YC, Doneyloop YC, Waves of change, Planet Youth, Buncrana Youth Drop In, Cockhill Youth Club, Glengad Youth Club and Sonas Youth Club.
